Maulatena Arwa Binte Ahmed Al Sulaihie (R.A).

Her kind name is Maulatena Arwa Binte Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al Qasim Al Sulaihie (R.A). She was born in 440 H. and expired on 22nd Shabaan 532 H. She was nurtured by Maulatena Asma Binte Shehaab (S.A). She had a maturate personality and a keen interest in History and Ilm Al Hadith.

Al Dai Al Ajal Syedna Ali Bin Ahmed Al Sulaihie (R.A) respected her and used to say "By swear of Allah she has nurtured us and the Mumineen of Dawat, she has guarded Dawat".

She was married to Syedna Ahmed Al Mukarram, the son of Syedna Ali Bin Mohammed Al Sulaihie (R.A). She used to impart the Knowledge of Ilm E Ale Mohammed (S.A) to the Doat Kiram (A.S) from behind the curtains. With the command over Knowledge, Dignity, Piousness and Ibadat and with the stability in the political decisions she had already conquered the hearts of Mumineen. And with her kind etiquette she had made the emperors of Yemen, her servants.

She had a great reverence and dignity near Aimmat Tahereen (S.A). Imam (A.S) in his various epistles used to address her with the following attributes.

    1. Al Huratul Maleka. (2) As Sayedat Al Radiyah. (3) Al Taherat Al Zakiyah. (4) Wahidat Az Zaman. (5) Sayedat E Mulooke Yemen. (6) Omdatul Islam. (7) Khalesat E Imam. (8) Zakhirat Al Deen. (9) Omdatul Mumineen. (10) Ismat Ul Mustarshedeen. (11) Kahaf Al Mustajeebeen. (12) Waliate Amir Al Mumineen. (13) Kafelat E Awliya E Mayameen.

She was the Hujjat of Imam Uz Zaman (S.A), in Yemen and the faiz and Taieed of Imam (S.A) reached her. Abdul Majid claimed for Imamat in her period. She warned the Mumineen against him, and argued with him. Mumineen boycotted Abdul Majid and remained stable within the cool confines of Miasaq of Imam Taiyeb (S.A). Syedna Zoeb (R.A) along with Maulatena Huratul Maleka (R.A) defended Dawat from the vicious concepts of Abdul Majid.

In the year 524 H. Imam Aamir (S.A) sent "SIJIL AL BISHARAAT" towards Maulatena Huratul Maleka (R.A) which contained the auspicious news of parturition and Nass on Imam Taiyeb (S.A). She conveyed this news in all the vicinities of Yemen.

In 525 H. she extended the eastern part of Jamaa Masjid in Sanaa, and engraved the names of Aimmat Tahereen (S.A) on the walls of this Masjid in Kufi script. Those engraved names remained safe during all these years and were found in the auspicious period of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS).

In 526 H. Imam Aamir martyred, and since then till 532 H. Maulatena Huratul Maleka (R.A) carried on the affairs of Dawat in the name of Imam Taiyeb (S.A). She introduced the custom of Doat Kiram (S.A) with the mandate of Imam Aamir (S.A) and appointed Syedna Zoaib as the first Dai Al Mutalq, and took an oath from him that no Dai would pass away, without appointing another Dai as his successor.

Before she died in 531 H. she had sent some valuable gifts in the court of Imam Taiyeb (S.A), the details of which subsumes over seven pages, and had the signature of authorized people on it. One of those persons was a Hindi, (an Indian).

She expired in 532 H. Syedna Khatab (S.A) praised her and wrote her the verses of condolence. Syedna Taher Saifuddin (R.A) added some of his own verses in the Marsiyah of Syedna Khatab (S.A). Her Qabar Mubarak is in Zi Jiblah, one of the most beautiful cities in Yemen. Historians recognize this place as the city of two streams, and the same is recognized near Fatemeen (S.A). As the one is the stream of Dawat and the other is the stream of Wealth.

Zi Jiblah, had been the capital of Dawat-Fatemiyah for 65 years. The messengers and the epistles of Imam (A.S) arrived here in Zi Jiblah from Misr and from Zi Jiblah the Doat were sent towards Hind, Sind and Amman.

The traces of Dar Al Izz, a palace encompassing 300 rooms in Zi Jiblah is still present. Maulatena Huratul Maleka (R.A) had constructed on a small hill in the heart of the city a Jama Masjid, which still today is in its original shape. This Masjid has five entrance doors, of which the main door for entrance lies exactly opposite of the Mehraab, which ofcourse is the magnificent architecture of Fatemieen (S.A) and besides the entrance there flows a small stream continuously. The roof of this Masjid is made up of wood and still today after 900 years remains in its original shape.

On the eastern part of the Mehraab lies the Qabar Mubarak of Maulatena Huratul Maleka (R.A) surrounded by the Noorani Zarih Mubarak. Apart from Mumineen, Muslemeen also performs the ziyarat of Maulatena Huratul Maleka (R.A), and no doubt their desires are fulfilled by the vasila of Maulatena Huratul Maleka (R.A).

Maulatena Huratul Maleka (R.A) separating the place of her Qabar Mubarak from the Hud of Masjid, wrote the waqaf of this Masjid. After her death the foes of Dawat tried to dig her grave, there betided a miracle and they found a coffer containing the original documents of the Waqaf with the authorized signature of the chief justice of that period.

Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS) is the first Dai amongst the Doat Kiram (S.A) of Hind to visit Zi Jiblah and perform the ziyarat of Maulatena Huratul Maleka (R.A). Maulana (TUS) arranged for the electricity and the carpets in this Masjid.

May Allah’s Salawaat shower upon Maulatena Huratul Maleka (R.A) and may those blessings reach us by the grace of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS). May Allah enhance the Umar Sharif of Maulana, till the Day of Judgment.

Ameen.

Abde Syedna (TUS)
